Your comfy sofa can be the perfect environment for a wide range of bad bacteria and other harmful infections. You spend a lot of time on your sofa and like most people, you eat on your sofa, you sleep on your sofa, your pet relaxes on your sofa and your friends spill drinks on your sofa. Your sofa can only take so much abuse before changing colour and becoming stinky.
Most types of sofas are designed for wet sofa cleaning. There are a few exceptions but we have a different way of dealing with these types of sofas. Just because your sofa looks stained and dirty now, it doesn’t mean that the sofa has to go in the bin. Far from it.
Sofa Cleaning – How often should you wash your sofa?
A fabric sofa or a leather sofa will get dirty over a period of time. This period of time can be 6 months or 6 years, depending on usage. If you have kids, if you are asthmatic or if you have pets sleeping on your sofa, you should be washing your sofa at least once per year. Even if your sofa does not look dirty, a light clean will refresh your sofa and remove dirt and odours embedded in the fibres of your sofa and it will also prevent the growth of bacteria.
If your sofa is used on a daily basis, you will need to wash it at least once per year. If your sofa is used much more than usual and if you have pets, you should wash it at least twice a year. A professional sofa cleaning job will remove stains and restore the balance between good and bad bacteria and will deodorise the whole room.
Sofa Cleaning – Wet or dry sofa cleaning?
Most sofas can be wet washed with the help of eco friendly or natural sofa cleaning shampoos and extraction machines. This system is by far the most efficient way of deep cleaning sofas. Some sofas cannot be wet washed so a dry sofa cleaning technique needs to be used. Some people hate wet sofa cleaning even if their sofa was designed for wet washing while other people hate dry sofa cleaning even if their sofa was designed to be dry cleaned.
Dublin Sofa Cleaning can recommend the best option for your sofa but the final decision is all yours. Wet washing a sofa is more or less like machine washing your clothes. Dry washing your sofa is like spot treating your cloths.
Sofa Cleaning – Prices
If you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Same rule applies in the sofa cleaning industry. A sofa cleaning shampoo can cost 2€ per litre while natural sofa cleaning shampoos can cost 20€ per litre. If your sofa cleaning contractor is charging you 30€ for a 3 seat sofa, how does he make profit? By using cheap and toxic chemicals.
Dublin Sofa Cleaning is a professional sofa cleaning company with years of experience and expertise. We use top of the range sofa cleaning shampoos from Craftex. We will offer you two options, eco friendly sofa cleaning products or 100% natural sofa cleaning products. If you go for the natural sofa cleaning products, you should expect to be charged 40% more because natural products are always more expensive to buy.
Our sofa cleaning prices are pretty affordable and our work quality is second to none. We will not cut corners and we are working to make profit. Our profit margins are 30% and we can guarantee you magic results.
Leather Sofa Cleaning – How is done?
Deep cleaning leather sofas can be pretty demanding. Special leather cleaning products have to be used to degrease the sofa and special leather cleaning waxes have to be used to relax the leather and achieve that beautiful natural shine. This process can look easy but if you don’t know what you are doing you can permanently damage the leather surface. We use Craftex Leather Cleaner & Conditioner and special microfiber cloths. The sofa needs to be pre sprayed with cleaning product, the product needs to work, then special pads are used for light scrubbing and then it has to be waxed. A three seat sofa should take around 45 minutes to complete. After the sofa is waxed, the leather will feel soft and it will be fully waterproof.
Sofa Cleaning – Drying time
The drying time can vary from sofa to sofa and house to house. The fabric texture, the ventilation and the condition of sofa, can increase or decrease the drying periods. We can guarantee 1 hour drying time for most sofas but some sofas might require a bit more time. Special fans can be used to dry your sofa faster if there is an emergency.
Sofa Cleaning – Spot cleaning
A spillage can be easily cleaned if it is cleaned within a few minutes. Craftex Crystal Shampoo is one of the world’s best stain removal products and you should have it in your home at all times. A spillage that is not cleaned within a few minutes, can become a nightmare to remove later on. Most people panic and start using whatever they can find in the kitchen to remove the stain. In most cases this makes the stain worst as the spillage reacts with the chemicals and this permanently changes the colour of your fibre.
If a spillage has just happened, give us a call. We can send a team within minutes. If your sofa is worth thousands of euro please do not take a chance with kitchen ingredients in your attempt to resolve the issue cheaply. Our callout fee is 50€ and for this price we will remove the stain.
